Still trying to get diald working on redhat 5.1 I have installed the 0.16.5a-1 rpm and the diald-config rpm of the same version number. Several packets show up in the queue under dctrl when I start diald and do a ping. The initial ping packet shows up first followed by several packets targeted at the name server. after about a minute pppd quits with message 2 and diald re-tries the connection. Some one had posted to this list a solution to this problem involving adding a line to /etc/hosts for the local machine. I am just coming over from OS/2 and could use some advise on this. I use dynamic ip with 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 as the ip#s in diald.conf. My hosts file is: 127.0.0.1 localhost lucy2.localdomain.wisc.edu 10.0.0.2 lucy2 lucy2.localdomain.wisc.edu I also tried 10.0.0.1 on line 2 with the same results. Thanks in advance.
