In fact, you can configure Sendmail not to accept mail from certain people
or even servers. There are many configuration options there that are
designed specifically to shield your system from spammers. Just read the
manual. Still, if Sendmail is not your primary mail server, that is you use
are getting mail to your ISP's POP account, then eventually if will get
filled with junk that you will not pick up from it with Sendmail. Thus, your
only option is to fetch all the mail and filter it locally.
