The machine running diald wouldn't happen to be a 2.2 box
would it? You have remembered to echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
to enable forwarding, haven't you? I wasted a whole morning not so
long ago because I "forgot" that one when doing a remote upgrade.
It took quite a while for the red mist of panic to thin out enough
that I noticed my subconscious chanting "it's *forwarded* packets"...
