Hi everybody. I'm new to the list so please forgive me if this problem has
already been discussed to death. I'm running diald 0.16.5 on a RedHat 5.0
system with all the latest system patches from ftp.redhat.com applied.
Diald is working beautifully but dctrl just hangs when I launch it.

I have this line in my diald.conf file

 fifo /etc/diald/diald.ctl

and I have created the /etc/diald/diald.ctl fifo with mkfifo and checked
that the permissions are correct. However, when I run

        dctrl -fifo /etc/diald/diald.ctl

I get these entries in my /var/log/messages file

Apr 25 08:05:37 jobe diald[337]: FIFO: full monitor connection to monitor
/tmp/dctrl.16116 requested

Apr 25 08:05:37 jobe diald[337]: FIFO: could not open pipe
/tmp/dctrl.16116: Device not configured

and dctrl just sits there. The strange thing is that I can still control
the link by manually echoing control commands into /etc/diald/diald.ctl.

So what's going on here? Am I missing something obvious in my diald
configuration? I'd really appreciate any comments or suggestions you could
give me....

Dave
