I tried the irqtune utility. It seemed to make my connection faster but I am still dropping packets. Could this be a normal thing??? Very confused Eric.....

What kernel are you running? I had this problem with 2.0.36 in redhat 5.2 and solved it by switching to 2.1.127. I even got errors on an idle machine. Disk activity didn't seem to affect the error rate at all. Never did figure it out.
