Greetings,

I am now on my 4th day of trying to install diald. I am running COL
1.3. 2.0.35 kernel. I can't seem to get the "make" command to work.
It immediately finds errors in the Makefile. I get the message
"makefile:46: *** commands commence before first target". I tried to
make sense of readme file to set up the paths in the config.h and
Makefile but its pretty vague. I didn't see lines in both files that
looked similar to eachother and there wasnt anything noting exactly
which lines need to be changed/edit/deleted etc. Also, upon trying to
apply the 'patch' to 'fresh' source files, I get error messages also:
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -u -N diald-0.16.old/BUGS diald-0.16/BUGS
|--- diald-0.16.old/BUGS Fri Sep 20 19:22:31 1996
|+++ diald-0.16/BUGS    Sun Jun 15 17:08:18 1997
--------------------------
I retyped it several times. I looked in the directory /diald-0.16/ and
there is no directory called BUGS. Should there be?
I've check all over the internet and newsgroups trying to get this thing

to install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, yes. I DO have

SLIP installed and I use PPP daily. I can dial out and ipfwadm works
fine.

Thanks,
Brian
