Hi ...........
I am hoping that a kind person here can help with my (indirect) problem.
I am running diald, socks5, squid etc and most works OK. Still sorting out
my caching DNS server, but other than that dials a serial ISDN terminal
adaptor on demand, connects via PAP etc.
The problem is I have a mail server on a private IP 192.168.13.1. I want
to get it to ETRN my mail down through the Linux box and my ISDN
connection. I have the outgoing SMTP connection being socketed through my
Socks 5 server. The problem is "re-directing" the incoming connection from
the ISP in response to my ETRN via socks to my linux box, back to the mail
server box.
I have try to masquerade back using
ipfwadm -F -a m -P tcp -S mail.server.com 1024:65535 -D 192.168.13.1 25
but it doesn't seem to do anything ... thinking about it mail.server.com is
trying to connect to my assigned live IP address which I need to redirect
to 192.168.13.1. Any pointers for me? Also I can't work out where to pump
up the logging for the ip stack so I can watch the packets etc
Regards
Steve
