Mike,
Looks like we might have an interaction between the
new run_shell code and glibc2.1. If you haven't been
following this thread, I've been having problems with
chat dying with "Can't get terminal parameter: Invalid argument"
when trying to use 0.99 and 0.99.1. Since I'm running
ok with 0.16 and 0.98.3, It looks like it's related
to run_shell. And since others using an older glibc seem
to be able to run ok with 0.99x, that would appear to
be a connection...
Let me know if I can help track this one down. I'm
not much of an expert on setting up ttys, though.
