My question is similar: Ok in Read.masq it is recommended not to use
defoultroute option. Instead one should use addroute script to load
masquerading rules. Could somebody help me to find an example of addroute
and delroute scripts for that case?

Yes. It works for many months.
Setup:
- Server : Linux Slackware 3.6, Diald 0.99, Squid 2.2STABLE3
- Clients: WFW311, W95, W98
- Network: Ethernet
