I have compiled Diald .99 on RH6.0 and have it working fine from
the command line. But I want it to start automatically. Chkconfig --add
diald (and every variaation on that theme) fails to work. It complains
that there is an error reading information for the service. I try to
recompile diald uncommenting the CONFIG_FILE definition in config.h so
diald knows where its configuration information is and the program will
not build. So putting diald directly in the init daemon's directory and
a link in the runlevel directory also fails -- I see the useage message
in my messages log.
I don't know much about the workings of initd and this is confusing
since the instructions I follow are not working for me.
