Shouldn't BROADCAST be 192.168.1.255 instead of 192.168.1.254?

Subject: Question...
I am going to upgrade my system to the 2.2.x kernel here shortly and I
was
wondering if anyone had a good script for the ipchains utility. I have
seen
many examples pass through the list, but haven't payed much attention.
*** I am looking for web (port 80), smtp (port 25) and pop3 (port 110)
maybe
telnet??
I will load ftp, irc and RA via modules...
*** Network Info:
192.168.1.x Network Address
192.168.1.1 Linux Box (Mandrake 6.0)
192.168.1.2 NT 4.0
192.168.1.3 Mac OS 8.5
***************************
255.255.255.0 Subnet Mask
192.168.1.254 Broadcast
Need anything else?
TIA,
Kevin Hillabolt
