Unable to compile diald under RH 6.0

I am receiving the following error when I run the make command while
installing diald 0.99.1 ,  I am following the
readme file that is in the directory,  Please advise what to do,  Do I
need to load a library?  Thanks.

make: cc: Command not found
make: *** [diald.o] Error 127
