Are you sure that your script follows the expect-send commands of your
provider? My standard chat-ppp script tries to setup ppp by sending '5' to
the provider (which worked kind of OK with Demon). When I tried to setup
the connection manually with minicom, it turned out that there where some
major improvements possible.
It seems that your chat-ppp script is not completely suited for your
provider, since the autoprobe message doesn't sound like a ppp command.

Try fiddling with minicom and your chat-ppp script.
