Well I've been living with my link needlessly dialing and finally had some time to
look at it this weekend, but I'm still no closer.  I've looked at my named server
and everything seems ok.  I've got my home page in Netscape set to the IP of my
nameserver which is also running httpd.  I can ping to my hearts content using IP
or nodename without bringing up the link.  As soon as I press the home button from
withing Netscape, diald dials out.

This seems to be the offending output from the tcpdump.

I'm stumped.  What is the significance of the .domain on the end of the domain
name in my network?
