I take it you're doing masquerading (to hide your private network).
If it only affected machines on your private network, and not the diald
machine, I'd tell you what I thought it would be. But since it affects
your diald machine as well.....
But just in case it doesn't, the fix is:
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr
Which, annoyingly, is missing from the relevant HOWTOs.
Also, check you have diald-0.99.1 (the .1 is important - routing fix
IIRC)
