I've created a "demandial" script here that starts, stops, and resets diald for
demand dialing. It's used in my crontab to start and stop diald at specific
times. Also, we use it to start/stop diald according to the circumstances we're
dealing with. The only thing is that you have to be (or su) root to use it. If
you're interested I can send it to you:-)
