Hello,
Diald's web site says that this is a good place to ask questions of users
who already have diald up and running.
My question is...
Why is diald's fake "local" address (from
/etc/diald/diald.options) used in the source address field of
packets that are sent to destinations in my domain???
I expect the packets' source address to be the address that my internet
service provider dynamically assigned to me. And for destinations outside
my domain, it is. But for some weird reason, packets going to hosts in my
ISP's domain have that bogus "local" address as their source address.
This started happening after upgrading to the 2.2.12 kernel.
Doing a
$ route -Cn
reveals the fake "local" address in routes cached by the kernel.
Thanks,
Kingsley
