Don't worry you need to get updated /etc/services and /etc/protocols
files or comment out the relevant lines in the filter you are using.
Anyway they don't stop the daemon.

You don't have the ethertap module loaded. Take a look at my reply to
the "ppp0 with diald" thread for a full explanation.

This one is a either reply. Either you are trying to use diald with a
slip connection and, if so this is OK, or diald is trying a fallback to
the old method of configuring a slip device due to failure of setting
the ethertap one.

Nothing, I supose that Mandrake 6.0 is RedHat 6.0 based, if so the
problem is with either a poor /etc/conf.modules or a problem with kmod.
It only happened with RedHat 6.0 and not with earlier versions.
