I am using the `addroute' and `delroute' scripts to set up firewalling rules and routes, per README.masq . My setup is a bit tricky because one firewall rule needs the DNS to be operational, including a route to my ISP's servers. I also want to pick up my email when the link comes up; I assume this belongs in the `ip-up' script but right now I have it as a side-effect of the `addroute'. I have a half-assed setup that seems to work. I'd like to do it right, but the diald man page is not too clear as to what scripts run when. For example, `addroute sl0 ...' runs twice when the real link is brought down, and I had to work around that detail. Basically, I'd like to know what scripts are run, in what order, and at what point the buffered packets are flushed out.
