Windows is too broken to let you merge WINS and DNS name
spaces unless you are absolutely *sure* you know what
you are doing. Samba merges them by default.

  Add "dns proxy = off" to any machine running samba
(specifically nmbd). Consider running a local name
server so you can trap obviously bogus queries before
they go out to the big, wide world.
