Hi all,
I run a firewall/ipmasq/ppp-dialup Linux box with kernel 2.0.36 for now.
I already configured ppp, ip masquerading and ipfwadm (firewalling): with
this I currently connect and
disconnect my ppp line manually with some scripts ppp-on and ppp-off.
Everything works and now I want to switch over to diald to automate
connection setup from within my LAN.
I compiled into my kernel everything which has to do with SLIP and I made a
diald.options file which reuses
my chatscript I already use for my working ppp-on script.
Diald starts up nicely, and adds the SLIP interface sl0 as proxy. It also
fills in nicely a defaultroute in
my routing table to the sl0 interface.
However, when I start pinging to an outdoor address, I get following message:
ping : wrote 157.193.184.1 64 chars, ret = -1
ping : sendto : operation not permitted
It seems that diald cannot see any packet coming through, and thus doesn't
do anything
I included her my diald.options
buffer-packets
mode ppp
ppd-options "user fvdermeu"
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/scripts/rugnet/chatscript.rugnet"
device /dev/ttyS3
speed 57600
modem
lock
crtscts
local 192.168.0.1
remote 192.168.0.2
dynamic
defaultroute
include "/etc/diald/standard.filter"
In the beginning I used the standard.filter file which comes with diald,
but now I tried with
a new file which accepts everything.
Is there anyone who can help me or who had a similar problem.
Thanx
Kind regards
Filip Vandermeulen
