I just wanted to mention that xringd(available on rpmfind.net) is exactly
what I was looking for. To bring up the line, I simply have it send a
"ping -c 2 <ip>" out as the command after recieving a ring. The only
question remaining, which makes no difference to me since I have it on a
dedcated line, is how to specify the number of rings. Right now, it comes
up with the first ring.
