After some searching, I have found the
mechanism for disabling NETBIOS Name
Resolution via DNS.

Here it is.....

1. Using "REGEDIT" goto the following Registry
     SubKey.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
System\
CurrentControlSet\
Services\
VXD\
MSTCP

2. Under the MSTCP Subkey you should see the
following Registry Entries under this Key.

     Domain "YourDomain.com"
     EnableDNS "1"
     HostName "YourComputer"
     Lanabase "0"
     LMHostFile "C:\WINDOWS\LMHOSTS
     NameServer "111.111.111.111"
     SearchList ".com,.net"

**The Registry Settings are ONLY Examples**

3. Change the EnableDNS to "0". This will
inhibit ONLY the usage of DNS for NETBIOS.
The standard functionality of DNS will still work.
NOTE: This will affect the TCP/IP DNS Properties
Tab in that it shows DNS Disabled. In order to
change your DNS Properties, like the NameServers,
you can re-enable DNS and enter the data via the
Dialogue Boxes, or you can change the entries
     manually in the Registry.

For Example, to change the NameServer from
just using 111.111.111.111, you would change
     the NameServer Registry Entry to:

     "111.111.111.111,222.222.222.222"
