Bad remote ip address specification

I am trying to get diald.99.2 working but am getting an error message:
"Bad remote ip address specification.".  I wish to use the dynamic
option so for the remote address I am setting it to "remote 192.168.0.2"
as indicated by the manual for diald.  Does anyone have any suggestions
as to what I may be doing wrong?
