Guys, can you please explain the following. This is with any of the 0.99.x releases on RedHat 6.x. I've toyed with this now for a couple of weeks and I just don't get it. IF IN MY /etc/diald/diald.conf I HAVE: 1> device /dev/ttyS1 diald hangs when the PAP authentication etc, etc is supposed to happen. pppd seems to get started, but never does its negotiating. 2> device /dev/cua1 Everything is perfect, except for the warning message, which is easily ignored. What is the big difference between cua1 and ttyS1, and how do they inter-relate between chat, diald and pppd? I have a feeling it has something to do with locks or something. Anybody know?
