Trying another post - Problems with RH6.1

I can dial into and logon to our ISP with the standard ifup ppp0 but if
I start DIALD
and try to force a connection using PING the dial part goes Ok but the
PAP authentication fails.

The pap-secrets file never changed, any ideas.
