I am running a Slackware 4.0 distribution here, and found both a binary
and a sourvce tarball on my distribution CD. My kernel is 2.2.14. I
installed the sources successfully, and after saying "yes" to a couple of
kernel features I did not fully understand, it seems to be working fine. I
may have to tweak the timing a bit to accommodate my sluggish ISP.
Question: One instruction seq uence I have ignored is the warning to
suppress a number of PPP options in /etc/ppp/options in favor of a similar
set of options in /etc/diald.conf. It seems to be working okay without
changing my options file. Should I expect it to fail somewhere down the
road?
BTW -- the Slackware distribution was produced last summer and contains
diald version 0.16.5.
Chuck.
