Yep.

Look I agree with Philip here, the intro info on how to get a) the source
and b) whether that is the full source and c) whether there are or are not
any rpms and d) why the hell there are things with version nos 0.16, 0.16.5
and then 0.99 etc

To top this the mini HowTos are next to useless ! How about someone listing
the following:

a) What is the lastest complete compileable source for the latest kernel ?

b) Where do you get it

c) ABC of compiling it

The info about diald seems all over the place and in bits like a dogs
breakfast.

Now don't get me wrong I think the diald effort is great and I look forward
to compiling it and I think that now thanks to Lourdes' advice (ie. 0.16
won't compile under 2.2 I need to patch it version 0.16.5 first) that I'll
be able to get going BUT I am still wondering whether there is 0.99 out
there and should I be compiling that ?

If it's just that everyone is too busy and that there is really lots of
clear info and details and stuff out there then if no one else will do it I
will gladly put something together if people send me all the relevant info
(but I think it would be better if someone who was more familiar with diald
did it).

Sorry to whinge,

Wilson Fletcher.

Neither Eric Schenk (maintainer through 0.16.5) nor Mike Jagdis (0.9x
series) has ever released an rpm. There are several people who have made
rpms.

I believe Sagami's rpm can be found at
http://member.nifty.ne.jp/sagami/linux/rpm.htm

I'd recommend downloading the source rpm and rebuilding it (that way you
don't have to worry about library versions that don't match).

Yes

0.99.3

The website has moved to http://diald.sourceforge.net

It all depends on what you need. :)
