Is anyone using Brian Edmonds log checkers that come with diald?

I've just poured through the scripts and can't decide whether I want to
run them as root from cron or whether I want to run them as a user from
my own cron job. If the later, then I'll have to copy diald.log to
another directory and keep the diald.log.* there for subsequenct
diald.{weekly|monthly} runs.

How are some of you parsing your logs, and with what permissions?

Linux is harder to learn than Windows. But it is easier to use.
