Until a few days ago I used:
linux-2.0.33
diald-0.98.2 (the last fully functional on 2.0.x kernels)
dialmon-0.8
ipfwadm for masq

"echo queue > /path/diald.ctl" (and then dialmon queue log) would show
the local pc's ip/names as timeout packets' source addresses.

=======
Now:
linux-2.2.14
diald-0.99.1 (I heard of problems with 0.99.2, and 0.99.3 is not yet
officially released, even if available for download)
dialmon-0.8
ipchains for masq

"echo queue > /path/diald.ctl" (and then dialmon queue log) always shows
the ip address I'm assigned by my ISP as timeout packets' source
address. I cannot say anymore which pc is causing the link to be kept
up.

Is this a diald or kernel problem?
Does it happen to me only (so it's me that have misconfigured
something)?

Thanks.
