well dont ask me how but I got diald to work and now want to set time outs , I notice on boot the computer dials in but want it for demand only or possibly a time like from 7 to 7 with shutdown and redial can anyone help I am delivering this server saturday

Put this in your diad.conf

# Saturday and Sunday, from 00:01am to 11:59pm (down - even on demand)
restrict 00:00:01 23:59:59 0,6 * *
down
Timeouts are set in the standard.filter file
In this file you will see
accept tcp 120 .... (standard 2 minutes up time - 120 seconds)
