Hi, free software friends. I'm using diald (ver 0.99.1) to make a demand conection over a LAN network using a Linux RedHat 6.1 server. I read the man pages including man diald and man diald-examples and diald FAQ and I made a diald configuration file and I defined a tcp/udp rules for the connection. I configured the next files /etc/diald.conf /etc/ppp/pap-secrets /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter I followed the suggestions explained in the 4.2 FAQ section, about DNS configuration and I 'm using the lastest version of ppp But the server cant connect to the ISP ( but with ifup ppp0 i cant make a succeful connection) I send you my configuration files and i add the system log message with the pppd error. Thanks a lot Mauricio Alvarez [EMAIL PROTECTED] ACIM INFORMATICA: www.acim.com.co # /etc/diald.conf # diald.conf modified by Mauricio Alvarez # Device configuration mode ppp device /dev/modem speed 115200 modem lock crtscts # Network configuration local 192.168.0.250 remote 192.168.0.251 dynamic defaultroute pppd-options name linux pppd-options noauth connect "/usr/sbin/chat -f /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0" include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter redial-timeout 10 dial-fail-limit 15 debug 20 # /etc/ppp/pap-secrets linux * my_password * # usr/lib/diald/standard.filter # packet filter rules for dial on demand keepup tcp 10 tcp.fin accept tcp 180 any accept udp 120 udp.dest=udp.domain,udp.source=udp.domain accept udp 120 udp.dest=udp.domain accept udp 120 udp.source=udp.domain accept udp 0 udp.source=udp.netbios-ns,udp.dest=udp.netbios-ns accept udp 10 udp.dest=udp.netbios-ns accept udp 10 udp.source=udp.netbios-ns keepup udp 0 udp.dest=udp.timed ignore udp udp.dest=udp.timed keepup udp 0 udp.dest=udp.ntp ignore udp udp.dest=udp.ntp keepup udp 0 udp.dest=udp.who ignore udp udp.dest=udp.who keepup udp 0 udp.dest=udp.new-rwho ignore udp udp.dest=udp.new-rwho accept udp 120 any accept icmp 0 any accept any 60 any System log (/var/log/messages) Feb 29 18:26:11 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap0 Feb 29 18:26:11 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap1 Feb 29 18:26:11 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap2 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap3 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap4 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap5 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap6 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap7 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap8 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap9 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap10 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap11 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap12 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap13 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap14 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor modprobe: can't locate module tap15 Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor diald[25848]: start sl0: SIOCSIFMETRIC: Operation not supported Feb 29 18:26:12 servidor diald[25848]: start sl0: RTNETLINK answers: File exists Feb 29 18:26:13 servidor diald[25848]: Trigger: udp 192.168.0.250/1037 128.122.253.92/53 Feb 29 18:26:13 servidor diald[25848]: Calling site 206.114.4.37 Feb 29 18:26:14 servidor connect: Initializing Modem Feb 29 18:26:14 servidor connect: Dialing system Feb 29 18:26:37 servidor connect: Connected Feb 29 18:26:37 servidor connect: Loggin in Feb 29 18:26:37 servidor connect: Protocol started Feb 29 18:26:37 servidor diald[25848]: Connected to site 206.114.4.37 Feb 29 18:26:37 servidor diald[25848]: Running pppd (pid = 25877).
