I am having exactly the same problem with redhat 6.2 while with 6.0 I
didn't.
The only difference is that I have an static IP and the message refers
to
the remote IP.
I guess is a problem of pppd, probably due to /etc/ppp/options file.

If anyone has got the solution... will save us a little bit of  time.
