Hi Jim,
The ADSL service was initially launched as a "always on" service in most
places. The significant progress in ATM switches,  PPPoATM and PPPoE (etc)
has now made it possible to access the Internet on demand (so the ADSL
circuit will be like regular phone line). I have subscribed to this service
for 2 months now and really would like to automate the connection based on
demand. PPPD v.2.3.x have the "demand", and "idle" parameter which do
similar things as in Diald; and I am studying them now to hopefully solve
the problem.
