I'm already using one button on my control to reload the driver and 
restart vdr. I just did it by using an ordinary .lircrc file and have 
irexec running as a daemon. Works perfectly.

.) or you could press a button for more than a second to execute 
a special command. that would be VERY usefull. (eg. restart VDR, ect...)
.) as i use a normal tv remote control for VDR, it would be great to
have symbols inserted in the normal picture when you do a ff or pause
ect. (of course not for play). my problem is, that i sometimes can.t
see if i.m rewinding, or winding forward. :)
