I just wanted to do some quick experiments with DVDs (I'm a total novice in that area ;-) and am apparently facing some difficulties. I am using libcss-0.1.0 and libdvdread-0.8.0 and tried to take a look at a DVD I brought from America (region code 1). Running the 'play_title' program from 'libdvdread' generates the following error messages on stderr: libdvdread: Attempting to use block device /dev/hdc for CSS authentication. libdvdread: Can't open /dev/hdc for reading. There are 1 titles on this DVD. There are 1 chapters in this title. There are 1 angles in this title. lt-play_title: play_title.c:229: main: Assertion `is_nav_pack( data )' failed. Aborted (core dumped) Could there be a problem with the way I have mounted the DVD? I did a mount /dev/hdc /cdrom Is there something special to be considered when mounting a DVD? I do can see the directory of the DVD: kls@video:/home/kls/vdr/DVD/libdvdread-0.8.0/src > ls -lR /cdrom /cdrom: total 2 dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 2048 Apr 3 1998 video_ts /cdrom/video_ts: total 1220054 -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 26624 Apr 3 1998 video_ts.bup -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 26624 Apr 3 1998 video_ts.ifo -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 929525760 Apr 3 1998 video_ts.vob -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 20480 Apr 3 1998 vts_01_0.bup -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 20480 Apr 3 1998 vts_01_0.ifo -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1708032 Apr 3 1998 vts_01_0.vob -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 315557888 Apr 3 1998 vts_01_1.vob Am I trying something stupid here?
