This has been an area of interest for me
for a long time. I've been searching for
something that can act like a VCR, DVD
player, Web browser, ..., and now, a
satellite receiver - without generating
fan noise!
Well, I got one today.

I paid just over $600 for a pretty complete
model. They're shipping now.
I haven't gotten to play with it much yet,
but it comes with lots of documentation
and appears to have good Linux support.
I'll try to report more.
