Hi all, well, you're looking for the same thing than me... :-) I also user Suse 7.3 with 2 DVB-S. I tried all kind of other windows based Software and even my girlfriend says i should throw away the M$ stuff and get "her" linux/VDR back! <BG>
I think implemetimg some kind of software deinterlacing and scaling la Dscaler would be the killer feature for VDR. As the Dscaler Algorithms are open source there is no need to reinvent the wheel :-) But as i am not a programmer i have no idea how difficult it is to adopt/reprogram the windows code to linux. there was one interesting thread on the list regarding a "modular" VDR. A modular VDR with a software interface for some kind of pug-ins would be great. standard would be receiving/decoding of the dvb stream with the DVB card. optional would be receiving with the DVB card and then sending the data to the deinterlacing or scaling plug-in of your choice. In this case Klaus could concentrate on the main VDR and others could take care of plug-ins of their interest. Unfortunatly i only have the interest, not the knowledge...:-( cu Mirko "Psychonaut" Morschheuser -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: Ortner, Uwe [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Gesendet: Dienstag, 8. Hello there, I use VDR in my Linux box (SuSE 7.3) with 2 Siemens DVB-C I heard a lot about Scaling Software (dscaler etc.) in http://www.beisammen.de. Anybody out there who has some experience in this topic (especially with vdr)?
