Doh 8-) We _are_ using XML in many places. As Holger outlined, the channel list is loaded once and than never touched again until the next reboot. So loading speed isn't a real issue. As long as a parser for that particular format is availible it doesnt really matter what you choose. But if this is some cind of poll - i vote for XML because it's human read- and editable and (more important) easy to extend without loosing compatibility to older/newer tools.
