I've found a problem (maybe bug) with HEAD driver (maybe it causes the
mplayer bugs also)
When I don't attach an antenne to the DVB card, and start HEAD driver,
and after that I start an application which want to tune to a channel,
kdvb-fe proccess starts to eat my CPU time, and even after quitting the
application which want to tune (dvbtune, scan, vdr ....) the kdvb-fe
still eats CPU time, (~50% on my C766) until I restart the driver.
This is perhaps related to a problem I am seeing.
I am using vdr 1.1.15 with driver dated 1-11-2002 on a DVB-s 2.1.
If I tune from an active channel, to a channel with no carrier (my
channel list has channels that carry itinerant feeds), and then tune
back to an active channel, the vision and sound does not return. VDR
still seems to be functioning OK (OSD changes as I switch channels,
menus work), but I can only restore vision/sound by restarting VDR (not
the driver). While it is faulting, the kdvb-fe process is using 50% CPU
(P1 233).
There is nothing out of the ordinary in the log and Klaus was a little
baffled by this behaviour when I reported it on the VDR list.
have you seen outcommand errors or an ARM crash in the kernel logs?
I will test with the latest CVS driver.
please do so,
Holger
