[linux-dvb] Need help with Hauppauge WinTV Nova

My OS is Suse 8.1.
dvb-0.9.4-142 driver version
I got my Hauppauge DVBs working with vdr.
But using the Nova standalone seems to be a little bit more difficult..
I started dvbtune with the channel of my choice and get the following

tuning DVB-S to L-Band:1237000, Pol:H Srate=27500000, 22kHz=on
SEC BUS MODE:  IDLE (0)
SEC VOLTAGE:  18 (4)
SEC CONT TONE: ON
Getting frontend event
Received completion event
Event:  Frequency: 11837000
       SymbolRate: 27500000
       FEC_inner:  0
Bit error rate: 0
Signal strength: 0
SNR: 0
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_POWER FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER
FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
but there is no data on /dev/ost/dvr

should I use a newer version?
If so which version ?
