Just got a shiny new Hauppauge DEC2000-T and spent the evening enjoying the Wimbledon
coverage.

The primary aim of purchasing this box was to investigate the possibilities of a
living-room PVR system.

With that in mind, I have started to compile a feature wishlist ; some of these things
are obvious, like better integration with EPG information, etc, but I have a group of
features that require certain technical capabilities in the box. A cursory search
through this list has not turned up positive or negative information regarding these
features, so I'm going to ask.

Firstly, I believe someone has asked this already, but I saw no answer.

1) Is there provision for a PC connected to the unit to drive the DEC2000 overlay UI
in any way, and conversely, for the unit to send commands to the PC through the USB
link?
I think this is obviously technically feasible, but that it's likely that no provision
exists in the current firmware.

And secondly, I have not seen this one asked.

2) The unit is obviously capable of
        - receieving an MPEG2 stream through the tuner
        - decoding an MPEG2 stream to a framebuffer and thus rendering it to a TV
        - passing the MPEG2 stream from the tuner to a PC connected through the USB

So my question is, could you pass an MPEG2 stream to the DEC2000 decoder from
the PC via the USB link?

In addition, if the first is true, would the unit be capable of simultaneously
streaming MPEG2 data from the tuner TO the PC, while receieving an MPEG2 stream FROM
the PC and decoding it to the framebuffer?
