True, vdr needs some decoder / TV out to display the OSD. A dxr3 would do for decoding - they're on ebay for around 40 EUR these days.Try to look for a HollywoodPlus-Card, they are a lot cheaper and have the same chip and work fine with the dxr3 - plugin and the em8300 modules. I got 2 for 10 Euros each.
