Strange... on my calculator 4*4*8 results in 128... Just a note, don't mean to be the wise guy here.

Actually there are nine possible devices for each adapter
("video", "audio", "sec", "frontend", "demux", "dvr", "ca", "net", "osd"), so we need 4 bits to encode them, not 3.
So we have 4 adapters * (4 * 16 devices) = 256.
