Failing that can anyone summarise how to quickly look at the card in the shop and tell whether it is the new revision before buying. Is it best to look at the numbers on the tuner? If there is any external indication on the box this would be even better... I'm based in the UK if anyone has tips on where to buy a working card?
I got my Hauppauge / TechnoTrend Nova-T from jungle.com (RIP) in April 2002. It has a sticker indicating rev 1.2 and the tuner chip says Grundig 29504-401. This is the "original" version that's supported natively without the use of a DLL. It can only tune to UHF which is no problem in the UK as all transponders are on UHF there. You might be able to get one of these older cards from ebay.
