If you can give me a few hours then I can try this patch out. I wouldn't rely on my card being representative though - I really suspect that it dying slowly. However, if this patch breathes life into it, then I would strongly suggest that it is an incredibly powerful patch (it will work better than the windows drivers for example!!)
Bearing in mind what others have said about v. occasional lockups with DVB-s 1.3 cards that sound very similar to our problem here, I wonder if the patch would then be worth porting across to other frontend? Pure speculation anyway, the dvb-t card is the one with the real problem I think... OK, will try asap Ed ----- Original Message ----- From: "Juri Haberland" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 4:03 PM Subject: [linux-dvb] Re: Full featured DVB-T card update Johannes Stezenbach wrote: > Regarding the driver release: I'm going to do it now, with the > sp8870 driver as is in CVS. Sorry. But then there's always > the possiblity for 1.0.1... Have you at least looked at the new patch from Jrgen? I'm currently running it now and I haven't had a lockup now - though it's to early to really tell - but I didn't have any problems with channel switching either. So this seems to be an improvement. If you release the current CVS state as stable 1.0.0 I have to rant that this isn't stable at all for me... Please, at least consider to wait until Wednesday and see what Edward, Nils, me and possibly Ragnar have to tell about this patch.
