As I mentioned on another email a moment ago, it might be worth trying a
known good driver with and without these changes to see if they really
are to blame.

I've done another test. Now each P4 system get one Nova-S budget card. The only difference between the two machines is the DVB driver. I've recorded Sat1 from 16:00 - 17:00 a both system. Here's the result:

DVB driver CVS: 2003-10-17
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt1 vdr[1776]: cTS2PES got 756 TS errors, 5680 TS continuity errors
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt1 vdr[1776]: cTS2PES got 63 TS errors, 2285 TS continuity errors
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt1 vdr[1776]: buffer stats: 36616 (0%) used

DVB driver CVS: 2003-05-10
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt2 vdr[1647]: cTS2PES got 650 TS errors, 5764 TS continuity errors
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt2 vdr[1647]: cTS2PES got 33 TS errors, 2879 TS continuity errors
Oct 17 17:00:00 tvt2 vdr[1647]: buffer stats: 50196 (0%) used

For there is no much difference. Both recordings are unusable. The dvb driver from 2003-05-10 is the oldest one I had on disk. Is it useful to make a test with an older/newer driver again?
