Hi, I now have a picture from my avermedia dvb-t card!
I was having a problem because it seems the scan application I got out of CVS works differently to the documentation and instead of using settings in initial.h now loads settings from seperate config files in the dvb-t/s/c directories. I copied one of the other files, uk-CrystalPalace, and substituted the frequency which I calculated for the BlackHill transmitter: (41 * 8) + 306 * 1000 + 167 I have: T 634167000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE I don know what the other numbers mean, I tried to find some correlation to the transmitter data I have, but it didnt seem to make much sense ;) So now I can tzap -r "BBC ONE Scot" and get data at /dev/dvb/adaptor0/dvr0. I then tried to play the data with mplayer, but it kept hanging. I got the latest version that gentoo offers (1.0pre2-3.2.3) and I can play the data although mplayer sometimes segfaults. The problem now is that the signal breaks up quite often making it quite unwatchable, so I thought I'd post some data I'm getting from tzap here and see if anyone can tell me what I can do about it. Unfortunatly I live in a flat with a shared arial, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it upgraded if that's te problem. ok here's BBC ONE Scot: status 1f | signal ffff | snr 9e89 | ber 00000006 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 01 | signal ffff | snr 9ea9 | ber 0000003f | unc ffffffff | status 1f | signal ffff | snr 98e9 | ber 0003ffc7 | unc ffffffff | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal ffff | snr 9709 | ber 00000007 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal ffff | snr 9849 | ber 00000008 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal ffff | snr 9bd9 | ber 00000005 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK and UKHistory: status 1f | signal ffff | snr 9249 | ber 00000005 | unc ffffffff | FE_HAS_LOCK status 01 | signal ffff | snr 9519 | ber 0000004e | unc 0000000b | status 01 | signal ffff | snr 9bf9 | ber 00000001 | unc 00000000 | I dont know whether a shielded coax cable would give me a better signal? I would also like to know if the remote that came bundled with the avermedia card can be used with lirc, how do I find out about that? thanks, Rob -- Info: To unsubscribe send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe linux-dvb" as subject.
