Hi, i tried to get my nova-usb to work once again, but had no success. Once again the same strange things occured.
I am using Gentoo-dev-sources (2.6.0-test10 + gentoo patches) which is using the default test10 dvb-kernel. As usb driver i am using uhci, because i have an centrino laptop. now when i load the ttusb and the frontend driver (compiled as modules), i get following in my syslog:

Nov 26 19:21:11 mobile hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 3
Nov 26 19:22:04 mobile ttusb_init_controller: dsp-version: 0.0

Nov 26 19:22:04 mobile DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (Grundig 29504-491, (TDA8083 based))...
Nov 26 19:22:06 mobile ttusb_init_controller: dsp-version: 0.0

Nov 26 19:22:06 mobile DVB: registering frontend 1:0 (Grundig 29504-491, (TDA8083 based))...
Nov 26 19:22:06 mobile drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver Technotrend/Hauppauge USB-Nova

When i go to /dev/dvb now, i get the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] dvb $ ls -lR

It seems like the driver thinks i am using 2 cards, while i am using a single card. When i try to watch tv, with a proper compiled xine (with dvb plugin) i get the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] dvb $ xine dvb://
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.9.22.

looks ok so far.

and xine locks up completly. If anyone got an idea, what to try, or how to solve this issue, i would be very thankful.

a Xine bug? Have you tried other output modes?

Maybe you want to try the simple solution suggested in the READMEs based on szap, test_sections and scan before to ensure that your setup is basically working...
