I too tested this and noted GREAT results. Although channel switch sometimes takes longer, it always gets the right LNB (I am not using diseqc switching, rather echostar switching) I have noticed that with new drivers, performing the time-sensitive switching in userspace was prone to accidents, but since I applied this patch, I have been unable to switch to the wrong sat due to jitter in the polarity switching. I strongly encourage you to clean this patch and commit to CVS if you haven't already done so.
